Service Description

The First Degree of Usui Reiki (sometimes known as "Reiki 1") is a form of initiation into this universal way of healing, a first step into understanding and being able to channel energy to assist yourself and those closest to you for the benefit of all. I believe that the process of "receiving healing" is not so much about being healed from the outside and more an awareness within your bodymind to be able to heal yourself. By connecting with the unending energy of the Universe, we can promote health and wellbeing from within. Reiki uses a system of hand positions, symbols, words and simple techniques, accessible to all folks, to channel this Universal Energy and bring into balance the energetic frequencies and vibrations of the objects and living beings we direct it to. You don't need any previous experience of healing or any understanding of the system - the Universal Energies are available to all beings and anyone can learn to use it. It's my job to guide you into this fascinating world... all you need is an openness to the experience and a curiosity to see where the journey will take you. Reiki 1 offers the opportunity to learn: • The History of Reiki and its origins • The Reiki Precepts - the Ethical Principles • The Exchange of Energy - how and why Reiki works • Basic Anatomy & Physiology relating to Reiki • The Chakra System • Self Healing and the 21 Day Detox • Giving Reiki to Others • Wider Applications of Reiki • Contraindications of the Modality • What to Expect Following Reiki Treatments & The Healing Crisis Over the two days you will receive the 4 attunements required to be practising at the 1st Degree and will be given the opportunity to practice on yourself and each other! Please note: this level of training does not enable to you obtain insurance to practice as a Practitioner of Reiki (2nd Degree: Practitioner Level is for that) - this is for yourself, friends and family and your surroundings... it's a proving ground to practice the skills you learn and a chance to decide whether you want or need to take the journey further. There are only 6 spaces available on this training as a smaller group enables a closer and more intensive teaching and learning experience for all of us. Upon booking you will pay a deposit to secure your space and I will contact you after this to arrange further payments closer to the time of the gathering.
