Bells are aften used as a means for "framing" a ritual or meditation - by striking or ringing the bell at the begining and end of a ceremony, this helps prepare the mind for the journey ahead and to signify when it is time to return.
 
Bells, as well as other sound-making objects, have a secondary use as a way to clear energy in a space and therefore are useful to have if you want to use them as part of your energy work, when performing energetic cleansing or to create a suitable environment for performing magic or energy work.
